Blogger Spotlight: Walking the Off-Beaten Path
As a retired high school English teacher, sharing information with others comes naturally to Lana Wallpe. That’s why she started her blog, Walking the Off-Beaten Path, to help readers better understand the importance of agriculture and what farmers do.
Wallpe’s blog features different categories, from recipes to critters to farm life, sharing her experiences on her family’s 1,800-acre corn and soybean operation in Benton County. They also raise feeder cattle and a small amount of wheat and alfalfa for the cows.
Wallpe says that even though she’s been out of the classroom for 12 years, she never misses the opportunity to teach about grain farming or raising livestock.
