Pour Haus in Tell City

This spring, eat your way through Tell City in Perry County, a river town of 7,500 people nestled on the Ohio River. Though the town is small, it packs a big punch in the restaurant arena.

Start with a stop at Winzerwald Winery, known for its German and Swiss influences, as grapes were brought to the area from Germany many years ago.

The Post Restaurant, a historic former U.S. post office-turned-restaurant, specializes in American cuisine. It still even has the bank vault from the early 1900s.

The Pour Haus Pub and Eatery is housed in the former Tell City Foundry and Machine Works building, which was established in 1876. The restaurant recently opened a brewery where visitors can sip microbrews and other Indiana beer.

Julie’s Tell City Café, another local and tourist favorite, serves breakfast and lunch daily with low prices and generous portions.
