The town of Ireland in Dubois County takes St. Patrick’s Day seriously.
Although it paints the town green for the entire month of March, the actual weekend of St. Patrick’s Day is the culminating event. The first St. Patrick’s Day Parade was held in March 1982, and for nearly 40 years, the town has celebrated its Irish roots with a spectacular celebration.
The family-friendly event includes kids’ games, a 5K race and a parade. Attendees can also participate in the county historical society’s open house, explore the craft and vendor show, and indulge in a variety of beer.
The event is free and open to the public, with food and beverages available for purchase. For more information about this year’s St. Patrick’s celebration, visit stpatsirelandin.com.

I’ve been trying to find, online, this year’s date of Ireland, Indiana’s, St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I’ve looked at numerous postings online and on my phone. I’ve yet to find the date for 2019. I may have missed it, but considering how many I’ve checked, it would be nice to give it a bit more publicity by letting folks know the date. Thanks!
