The Indiana Farm Bureau special recognition license plate supports youth education programming in Indiana.

“Ag education is integral to the future of the farming industry,” says INFB President Randy Kron. “The Farm Bureau Foundation gives youth the opportunity to understand more about the food they eat, where it’s grown and how important farmers are to their daily lives.”

Launched in 2019 to mark the organization’s 100th anniversary, the INFB license plate generated more than $41,000 for the foundation as of late 2023.

Among the programs funded by the foundation are youth scholarships, donations and continuing education scholarships for volunteers and teachers.

Each plate costs $40, and $25 of the fee goes to the Farm Bureau Foundation. The remaining $15 is an Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles administration fee. The BMV states there must be a minimum of 500 plates on the road at any given time to keep the plate active.

“We are proud of the funds we have raised for the Farm Bureau Foundation over the past three years,” says Debra DeCourcy, APR, INFB executive director of marketing. “We want to continue this momentum and make sure our plate always remains an available option for Hoosiers.”

In addition to supporting youth education in Indiana, the INFB license plate helps build brand awareness for the organization.

“INFB members and other supporters of agriculture are seen with the plate on their vehicle as they drive throughout the state and even across the country,” DeCourcy says. “That’s great for an organization like ours, as we’re always looking to generate awareness and support for Hoosier farmers.”

The INFB license plate can be purchased from the BMV website at in.gov/bmv, any BMV Connect kiosk, or BMV branches and partial service providers. The plate can be ordered any time throughout the year.
