Local Fare at Fair Oaks Farm
This summer, Fair Oaks Farm in northwestern Indiana plans to open a brand-new farm-to-table restaurant, the aptly named Farmhouse Restaurant.
The agritourism destination already houses the popular dairy and pig adventures that give an inside look at farming, so the expansion into feeding their visitors seemed like an appropriate next step.
“The restaurant will use mostly food from the farm or as local as possible,” says Megan Riordan, assistant director of Farmhouse Restaurant. “The kitchen will be transparent behind a glass wall, so the public can observe what happens behind the scenes in a restaurant as they dine.”
As for the menu, guests can expect whole roasted chicken, pork chops, homemade mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and much more. There will also be a pub offering local beers and wines.
Farmhouse Restaurant is set to open July 1. Visit fofarms.com for more information on the Farmhouse Restaurant and all that Fair Oaks Farm has to offer.
